Mysuru

Mysuru district is located approximately between 12º18'0"N latitude and 76º39'0"E longitude. Which consists of seven taluks namely H. D. Kote, Hunsur, Krishnaraj Nagar, Mysore, Nanjanagudu, Piriyapattana and T. Narasipura. The total geographic area is 685.4 (’000 ha) with a mean annual rainfall of 684.30 mm. The geological formation of the Mysore district is made up of red sandy loam to red loamy soils. The major crops cultivated in Mysore district are finger millet, paddy, cotton, maize, tobacco, sugarcane, chilli, sorghum, sunflower, bajra, pulses, coconut, zinger and vegetables.


The fertility status of Mysusu district showed that among major nutrients, N and P were low and medium and available K is medium and high in the district. In case of available sulphur, maximum area is medium and high. With respect to available micronutrients viz, Fe, Mn, Zn and Cu are sufficient
